First Ever Gold Refinery Coming up for AP

Andhra Pradesh is all set to gets its first gold refinery in Krishna district and an aerospace cluster in Anantapur. Both these are the part of the nine major investment proposals worth Rs 7,330 crore cleared by the AP State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB) and will be generating 10,045 jobs as per the estimate.

There are 32 gold refineries in the country of which 27 processes are unrefined gold. The purified gold will be supplied to jewellery units. The gold refinery coming up in Krishna district will be set up by Indani Global Private Ltd at a cost of Rs 87 crore. The state is offering a special package of incentives to these units along with the support of infrastructure facilities.

The projects are spread across sectors like chemical, fibre, food processing, industrial park and renewable energy equipment covering Chittoor, Anantapur, Krishna, Nellore, Visakhapatnam, West Godavari and Vizianagaram districts. These nine projects are expected to be operational in two years
