Five Volunteers have come forward to receive the jab at the Kaiser Permanente research facility in Seattle, Washington. The first person to get the jab on Monday was a 43-year-old mother-of-two, Jennifer Haller from Seattle.

The Vaccine was manufactured with a harmless genetic code copied from the virus that causes the disease and is expected not to cause Coronavirus. However, it will take many months to know if this vaccine is working. Moderna Therapeutics, a biotechnology company is behind this vaccine.

The volunteers will be given two jabs each in total, 28 days apart, into the upper arm muscle. Even if these tests go well, it could still take up to 18 months for any potential vaccine to become available for the public.
