Andhra Pradesh state after the bifurcation celebrated the first ever Republic day event in Vijayawada. ESL Narasimhan who is the governor of both the Telugu states hoisted the National Flag at Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium and later received honorary salute from armed forces.This event was also attended by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, Ministers, Chief Secretary IYR Krishna Rao, DGP Ramudu and others.
Later Narasimhan addressed the people of the state about government’s stand on Smart villages, Capital, e-governance, Polavaram projects, investment opportunities, Upcoming Pushkaralu etc. This is the first ever event that happened in the region as such events usually happened in Hyderabad in the United State. People turned out in huge numbers to watch the event.
Narasimhan later flew to Hyderabad and participated in the Republic day event in Parade Grounds of Secunderabad as Telangana state celebrates the first R-day event after realizing the dream of separate state.
