There are numerous reasons for Jagan Mohan Reddy’s Humiliating Defeat in the recent elections.
You ought to have lost on multiple fronts when you fall from 151 seats to 11. It is like how they say “కరుణుడి చావుకు సవాలక్ష కారణాలు”.
One such reason is how Jagan Mohan Reddy’s own ego led to his downfall.
There are five people who were with YSR Congress but Jagan Mohan Reddy drove them out just because of his Ego.
Raghu Rama Krishna Raju, Vallabhaneni Balashoury, Lavu Srikrishna Devarayalu, Magunta Sreenivasula Reddy, and Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy are the five people.
All the five people are financially as well as socially very strong. They have a strong grip over the Lok Sabha segment they represent and can influence the outcome in all the seven Assembly segments under them.
Under these five Lok Sabha constituencies, there are thirty-five Assembly constituencies. YSR Congress won only two seats.
Jagan using his clout in BJP ensured RRR did not get Narasapuram MP ticket, the rest all got MP tickets from TDP (Machilipatnam – JSP) and emerged as very strong candidates for the alliance.
It is interesting to note that Jagan refused tickets for Balashoury, Srikrishna Devarayalu, and Magunta.
Vemireddy was given a ticket but he was insulted later.
The story of RRR is well-known to everyone. The downfall of the YSR Congress started with RRR. He was the first to turn opposition for Jagan Mohan Reddy even before the Opposition recovered from the 2019 defeat. He fought an intense battle in the name of Rachabanda and played his part in Jagan’s downfall.
Vemireddy ensured TDP won Nellore Parliament for the first time in Twenty-Five years. YSR Congress won all the Assembly constituencies under Nellore Parliament in 2019 and now drew a blank. Vemireddy played a very crucial role in that.
In the Narasaraopeta Parliament of Srikrishna Devarayalu, the YSR Congress drew a blank and also lost the hold on the politically very important Palanadu completely.
In the Machilipatnam Parliament, the big seats of Gudivada and Gannavaram were lost. Sitting Minister Jogi Ramesh lost from Penamaluru. Balashoury contested as Janasena MP. This is one of the seats where there is a 100% vote transfer between TDP and Janasena.
In Ongole Parliament, Magunta’s impact is clearly visible. YSR Congress was able to win only two seats and that too with small margins (Darsi with 2500 and Erragondapalem with 5000 votes). The local issues in TDP in these two constituencies were the main reasons.
This election is a classic example of say how ego and arrogance can bring a man’s downfall.
