The Incumbent YSR Congress Government is making big claims of ‘Why Not 175? but the actual ground reality seems to be different.
The majority of Surveys including the regional surveys like RTV are pointing at the victory of TDP+ and on the other side, YSR Congress leaders are struggling to get the votes of their own family members.
It all started with Jagan Mohan Reddy himself.
We have seen how own sister Sharmila deserted Jagan and joined the Congress Party. His cousin Suneetha is fighting against Jagan as the latter is supporting the accused in his father’s murder case. Jagan’s mother YS Vijayalakshmi for the first time since Jagan’s political entry decided to stay away from YSR Congress’s election campaign as a result. Sharmila has become so vocal of Jagan that even his rivals appear less critical.
In Tekkali, YSR Congress Candidate Duvvada Srinivas is facing non-cooperation from his own wife, Vani. She was the aspirant for the MLA ticket but Srinivas got it at the last minute. Vani, a ZPTC even threatened to file nomination as a Rebel but YSR Congress high command convinced her and made her drop. Vani’s group is not cooperating with Srinivas’s campaign.
In Anakapalli, Deputy Chief Minister Budi Muthyala Naidu is contesting for the Parliament while his daughter is contesting for Madugula. Muthyala Naidu’s son, Ravi revolted against his father and is supporting BJP candidate CM Ramesh. The issue even landed at the Police Station the other day.
Family problems did not leave even Minister Ambati Rambabu. His son-in-law released a video saying that Ambati is the worst possible human being you would ever see. He asked people to think twice before voting for such people as they should not go to the Assembly.
And then, there is Mudragada Padmanabham. Mudragada is not contesting these elections but vowed to change his name to Mudragada Padmanabha Reddy if he did not defeat Pawan Kalyan in Pithapuram. His daughter dropped a video condemning her father’s behavior and lent support to Pawan Kalyan. Mudragada saying she is no longer his property raked further controversy. People objected to his low-thinking mindset of calling women property.
