The main accused in the Obulapuram Mining case and ex Karnataka MLA Gali Janardhan Reddy got a huge relief. The Telangana High Court has suspended the 7 year imprisonment imposed on him by the CBI Court.

The High Court asked him to pay Rs 10 lakh each with 2 sureties. It also directed him to submit his passport. Meanwhile, the other accused in the OMC case, PA Ali Khan, BC Srinivasa Reddy and Rajgopal were given bail by the Telangana High Court.

Gali Janardhan Reddy was sentenced to 7 years in prison in Obulapuram Mining Company scam case on May 5, 2025. He was sent to jail post the verdict. Now, Gali is free, but has to adhere to the conditions laid down for him.

He will remain out of jail even as the appeal against his conviction is fully heard. The case dates back to 2007, 2009, when Gali violated many norms through his company OMC.

Following his conviction, he lost his MLA post from Gangavathi constituency in Karnataka. His disqualification from the Assembly will remain unless his conviction is overturned.




Though the legal battle is far from over, for now, Gali can heave a sigh of relief.
