Rs 11,460 Crore Budget For 2026-27 For Hyd By GHMC

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) presented a large budget for the 2026 to 27 financial year. The budget was presented in the presence of Hyderabad mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi, who chaired the standing committee meeting. A draft budget of Rs 11,460 crore was approved.

The budget allocation is higher compared to the previous year. Priority has been given to the development of merged municipalities, road widening works and cleanliness across the city.

The older municipalities under GHMC received Rs 9,200 crore. An amount of Rs 2,260 crore was allocated for the newly merged 27 municipalities.

Due to rising traffic, Rs 1,720 crore has been set aside for new flyovers and road management. Another Rs 590 crore has been planned to increase green spaces across Hyderabad.

Under the Strategic Nala Development Plan (SNDP), Rs 550 crore was allocated for repairing and improving flood-affected areas. The civic body said the funds will be raised through property tax, town planning fees and government grants.
