
The nomination process for the Telangana Assembly in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) concluded, resulting in 312 candidates nominated for the 15 available positions. However, authorities rejected the nominations of 207 electoral candidates.
The election committee released a list of candidates for the Greater Hyderabad positions, with 312 positions filled after 20 withdrawals.
In the Rangareddy district, 173 candidates secured positions in six categories. Other districts also had successful candidates, with varying numbers in each category.
The Greater Hyderabad electoral list has been released, indicating a total of 45,36,852 voters. Of these, 23,22,623 are male voters, and 22,13,902 are female voters.
Additionally, 77,522 new registrations were recorded. Among the voters, 404 are in the service category, 80,037 are elderly voters, 327 are transgender voters, and 20,207 are differently-abled voters. There are also 883 NRI voters.
The rejection of nominations affected prominent leaders, including Jana Reddy, Eatala Rajender, and Srinivas Goud.
In total, 207 nominations were rejected, including 33 from Rangareddy district, 71 from Medchal, and 608 statewide. Nagarjuna Sagar and Huzurabad had five and one rejection, respectively.
