Govt Committee On Fake Propaganda by YSRCP

The Chandrababu government has formed a cabinet sub-committee to curb fake propaganda by YSRCP. The panel includes the Home, Revenue, Civil Supplies, and Information Ministers. The Chief Minister has also ordered strict action against those spreading false news across various platforms.

Officials said YSRCP has been circulating misleading information on issues like farmers’ problems and Krishna waters reaching the Handri-Neeva canal. Fake videos and posts have been creating confusion among people and forcing the government to step in firmly.

One major incident was the rumour of Amaravati flooding. Images and videos went viral, causing panic among citizens who rushed to the region. Later, they discovered it was false and shared clarification videos, while the government also issued official statements.

Another misleading case involved rigging claims during the Pulivendula ZPTC elections. A video shared by Ambati Rambabu was later revealed to be from West Bengal elections. Such incidents prompted the TDP government to plan a new law to check fake propaganda.

The government has made it clear that strict action will be taken against fake accounts. With the new measures in place, the aim is to ensure accountability and stop YSRCP’s alleged attempts to mislead people through false campaigns.
