Hospitals Running Out of Space for Dead in NYC

We have been hearing a lot about the state of hospitals in New York where the death toll has been the maximum in the United States. Now, we hear that the Nursing homes are running out of space for the dead in New York.

According to a report in the New York Post, the nursing homes have no morgues for dead bodies and therefore they are running out of space for the dead who passed away affected by a coronavirus.

As per the official statement from the Department of Health, the number of deaths in the nursing homes due to COVID-19 was 1,064. Some nursing homes are creating make-shift morgues as funeral homes couldn’t handle so many dead bodies.

There had been hearsay and unconfirmed reports claiming that some dead bodies were along with the other patients as they didn’t have a place for the dead patients.

Currently, the death toll in the US stands at 23,654 among 587,815 reported positive cases, so far. Out of the total dead COVID-19 patients, more than 10,000 patients happen to be from New York.
