BRS had been one of the parties in India that got the highest donations through electoral bonds. As the SBI released the data of which organization donated to which party, it was found that many Telangana-based companies donated to BRS to be on good terms with it.
Megha Constructions, Yashoda Hospitals, and a few other pharmaceutical companies donated to BRS right ahead of the 2023 Assembly elections.
The majority of the donors are the companies that are a part of the Kaleshwaram Project, pharma companies that were facing pollution notices, and industries that got huge lands from the government.
Megha Constructions donated Rs. 195 crore in the BRS’s total donations of Rs. 1322 crore. Yashoda is the second biggest donor with a donation of Rs. 94 crores. Chennai Woods Company’s Ramky Group is the third biggest donor with Rs. 50 crore donation. Dr. Reddy’s and Hetero Pharmaceutical Company donated Rs. 32 crore and Rs 30 crore respectively.
Pharmaceutical companies which were facing pollution notices and cases in the National Green Tribunal, had also donated to the BRS party in huge numbers.
