
A major human trafficking scandal has erupted at Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA). It has exposed a network that preyed on vulnerable job seekers with false promises of Gulf employment.

Five individuals, including an NRI based in Kuwait, have been booked. They were allegedly running a sophisticated operation involving forged documents and the illegal routing of workers to the Middle East.
The racket came to light when immigration officials intercepted Khadeerun Shaik, a woman from Kadapa, during a routine check.

Suspicious alterations in her passport raised red flags. It was marked with an ECR (Emigration Check Required) tag, which made it even more concerning.
ECR passports require special clearance for travel to Gulf nations, especially for unskilled laborers. The group had tried to bypass this rule through forgery.

On being questioned, Shaik revealed more details. She said five agents from Kadapa and Vijayawada were behind the elaborate scheme.
They had allegedly arranged a fake Kuwaiti visa for her. They also doctored her travel documents to sneak her past emigration protocols.
Acting swiftly, airport officials filed a formal complaint. RGIA police have now launched a full-fledged investigation.
A case has been registered under human trafficking and forgery charges. Authorities suspect this may be just the tip of the iceberg.
More victims and agents are likely involved in a broader, well-organized trafficking syndicate.
More arrests are expected in the coming days. The probe is intensifying into what could be one of the region’s most disturbing human smuggling operations in recent times.
