Govt Plans Bus Stands, Terminals Around ORR

If the modern, latest-style bus stands and terminals become a reality, the city of Hyderabad will be relieved of a lot of traffic jams within the city. As of now, more than 6000 buses ply between Hyderabad and districts. Of these 4000 start from MGBS and more than 1200 buses start from JBS.

About 2.5 lakh people travel to districts from both the bus stands daily. If the government’s intention goes as per plan, building terminals and bus stands around ORR will help tackle the humongous traffic problems that the city is witnessing.

One reason for the rise in travellers is the Mahalakshmi free bus scheme. It takes nothing short of two hours to travel to either MGBS or JBS within the city. So the government has come up with the plan of developing modern terminals and bus stops around ORR.

These modern terminals and bus stands are being planned at Shamshabad, Uppal, Aramghar, LB Nagar and Lingampally. Shamshabad will get a large and sophisticated terminal. If a bus stand comes up in Uppal/ Keesara, it will help ease traffic troubles in the Warangal route. A terminal in LB Nagar will help those travelling to Vijayawada, Nalgonda and other places in the route. The Aramghar terminal will help those travelling towards and from Mahbubnagar, Kurnool and Bengaluru.

The Lingampally will ease traffic woes of people travelling to Sangareddy, Zaheerabad and Pune routes. This means a huge respite to the residents of Hyderabad already vexed with constant traffic jams.

Netizens are hoping the government works on the plan ASAP and rewrite the connectivity problems intra-state.
