Hyderabad, the Capital city of Telangana is on its way to grab the ‘Pink City’ tag from Jaipur under the leadership of the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. Pink is the party colour of the ruling TRS party and is also KCR’s favourite colour. The TRS government is slowly painting all the government related projects and events in Pink.
The obsession for Pink is so high that irrigation minister T. Harish Rao, transport minister P. Mahender Reddy and other ministers and party bigwigs were seen symbolically carrying unusual pink coloured mixing bowls (Jabbalu in Telugu) in the govenment’s flagship Mission Kakatiya programme recently. Usually iron bowls are used but the pink bowls were specially ordered for the occasion.
Hyderabad is also turning pink with numerous banners, posters and cut outs of the Chief Minister and the other TRS leaders at vantage points of the city. Needless to say, wearing pink shirts, khandwas, using pink towels is a norm for TRS leaders in promoting pink in various walks of life.
