Hyderabad Metro Misses yet Another Deadline?

Hyderabad Metro Rail Service is unlikely to operate the stretch from Miyapur to SR Nagar from June 2nd, the state formation day. Even though the rail infrastructure is ready, works are pending in the parking areas, cycle and scooter stations and other facilities.

The State government is considering to start the service from year-end and it will start the entire operation in phases. Land for parking of vehicles had been handed over to L&T Metro Rail and work was being carried out for multi-level parking.

On the other side, the concessionaire and the state government are at loggerheads over the 4000 Crore Cost Escalation of the project which happened because of the Telangana government’s delay in providing the right of the way and objections over the route alignment.
