Hyderabad Shivers Like a Dry Leaf in the First Spell of Monsoon

Yet another Monsoon is here and it kickstarted yet another troublesome season for the people in Hyderabad as the government and GHMC failed in their preparation for the challenges the rains would bring. It was a heavy downpour in Hyderabad since last night.

Several places have received about 8cms rain. Power is disrupted since last night and water has logged everywhere leading to heavy traffic jams. Rain Water has inundated houses in the low-lying areas while trees fell on the roads.

GHMC had announced People not to come on roads until 11 AM due to the Traffic Jams unless things are very urgent. This is the first spell of the season but it has exposed the unpreparedness totally. Things are more or less the same regardless of which party is in power.
