Currently, there are no direct flights from Hyderabad to the USA. The Hyderabad-US-Hyderabad route represents the largest unserved passenger origin and destination market between India and the US, with a staggering potential of over 700,000 passengers annually.
Presently, Indian travelers bound for the USA rely on connecting flights, resulting in longer travel durations. If direct flights from Hyderabad to the USA are started, it would be a huge relief.
A one-way trip on most of the nonstop flights from the USA to India takes 13 to 17 hours, which is 6 to 8 hours shorter than one-stop flights. Right now, with connecting flights, it’s more or less a 20–24-hour journey, including layovers, which is very tedious.
The Telugu diaspora represents one of the fastest-growing communities in the US. Direct flight would only enhance convenience big time.
Telugu NRIs residing in America have recently submitted a request letter to Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy during his recent visit to New York, urging the establishment of such direct non-stop flights from Hyderabad. We have to wait to see when their dream will be fulfilled.
