Hyderabad is one of the bigger urban pockets in all of South India and a large portion of the domestic and also north Indian population resides here due to the IT boom.
Coming to the topic now, chief minister Revanth Reddy has discussed the idea of imposing a work from home culture in the state if need be. This is in tune with the earlier suggestion made by Prime Minister Modi with regard to reduction in fuel usage at public level.
Now, there are several reports going viral on social media, and the majority of them say that work from home culture could be returning to Hyderabad very soon.
The government of Delhi has already instructed its government employees to work from home two days a week, and this could be more of a regulatory measure from now on.
We could be slowly witnessing the return of the work from home prospect across the country and particularly so in Hyderabad as well.
This would directly impact the rental market and also the real estate boom in the city. The commercial aspect of the urban pockets will be largely corrected once the government is actually serious about the implementation of WFH.
But the real question is whether the larger section of the population would actually return to their rural homelands if the WFH is effectively imposed. What would be the financial impact of the same on the urban side of the city? Only time will answer this question.
