Indian Students Fraud Under Scanner!

In a rather unhappy and unwanted development, Australian universities, and 5 in particular, have imposed “unsaid” restrictions on granting student visas. The universities claim that the move is due to a surge in applications from “non-serious” students.

The universities are either outright rejecting or delaying applications leading to a short-term crisis for those wanting to fly to Australia for higher studies. Meanwhile, the universities have denied any discrimination and say that they are taking measures to make sure the college ratings remain good with the intake of serious students who can later make a career in the country.

Students from five Indian states, in particular, are being scanned – Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Uttar Pradesh. The universities say though there has been a pent-up demand to come to Australia, they are unsure of the seriousness of some of the students.

Victoria University, Edith Cowan University, University of Wollongong, Torrens University, and Southern Cross University are the five who are alleged for taking discriminatory measures. However, the universities and the Australian higher officials deny taking any such unwarranted decisions.
