Indo-Pak Tension: Activate ‘Emergency Alert’ Option

The tensions are ongoing between Pakistan and India. It is known that Pakistan-backed terror outfits carried out a terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22. India retaliated by targeting the terrorist bases and training camps.

But Pakistan is targeting civilians and Armed Forces. Hence, the Indian government has issued advisories to citizens. Till now, we have seen announcements on roads. Now, the government has started to send messages through phones. Even during network disruption, the alerts will come to the phones. People are supposed to follow directives and reach safe places.

Wireless Emergency Alert System has been developed by government of India to send messages during emergencies like tsunami, earthquake, wars and terror attacks. Given the situation between India and Pakistan, experts say that people can get alerts about attacks.

If your Alert option is disabled, this is how you can turn them on in Android and iPhone.

For android:
Open settings in the phone
Safety & Emergency option can be tapped or emergency alerts can be searched.
Select wireless emergency alerts.
Samsung, Xiomi, OnePlus… the name could be different.
Activate the options.

For iPhone:
Open settings and go to notifications.
You will have the option government alerts.
Click the option to get key alerts.
Different alerts will come during different emergencies.
