International Flights to Be Operational from Tirupati

If everything goes as per plan, Tirupati Airport will see International Flights running from October 15th. The International Terminal of the airport was inaugurated last year by Prime Minister Narendra Modi last year. However, the operations did not begin as the Union Home Ministry is sitting on the necessary security clearances.

Union Civil Aviation Minister from TDP, Ashok Gajapathi Raju took up the issue directly with Union Home Minister, Rajnath Singh the other day and brought to his notice how the clearances are pending for months. Rajnath Singh reportedly promised to give all the clearances immediately. In the first phase, International flights will be flown to UAE via Hyderabad.

The operations will be slowly expanded to other countries as well. Aviation Experts see a lot of potential in Tirupati Airport for International Operations since Lord Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Tirupati attract a huge number of foreign tourists. Also, the students and travelers from Rayalaseema will be using this airport instead of going to Bengaluru, Chennai or Hyderabad.
