Is KCR Scared Of Mahender Reddy?

Is KCR Scared Of Mahender Reddy? The allegation made by TPCC President Revanth Reddy against KCR seems to be supported by recent political developments. Patnam Mahender Reddy, a senior politician in the state, has been at the center of this situation. In the 2018 elections, he lost to Pilot Rohit Reddy, who contested as the Congress nominee from the Tandur segment.

Patnam had expected to receive a BRS ticket for the 2023 elections, but his hopes were shattered when KCR announced Pilot Rohit as the BRS nominee for the same constituency. Despite the fact that Rohit Reddy was not associated with the Patnam faction, he was given the BRS MLA ticket for Tandur, which left Patnam deeply dissatisfied.

After the list of BRS candidates was announced, Pilot Rohit approached Patnam to meet KCR. KCR, in turn, offered to provide Rohit Reddy with an MLC position after the elections. This move by KCR seemed to appease the disgruntled leader and eased the tensions within the BRS party.

Previously, there had been a degree of distance between the BRS leadership and former minister and MLC Mahender Reddy, but eventually, a compromise was reached. Notably, the BRS leadership, which had maintained a certain approach for years, appeared to be making efforts to mend relationships with Patnam Mahender Reddy, who had expressed his discontent.

In a recent development, Patnam Mahender Reddy was sworn in as a Minister in the presence of Telangana Governor Tamilsai and CM KCR at Raj Bhavan. Interestingly, two portfolios were allotted to Patnam on Thursday night.

With only three months left for the KCR government, this move might be an attempt to pacify Patnam and include him in the cabinet. However, Patnam has stated that he will not compromise on contesting from the Tandur constituency in the upcoming elections.
