IT Raids On Sonu Sood – BJP Upset?

Noted actor, Sonu Sood attained ‘real-life hero’ status with all his philanthropic work during the Covid-related lockdown. His image and popularity grew beyond leaps and bounds.

Coming to the topic, 6 places in Mumbai and Lucknow linked to Sonu Sood were raided by the Income Tax department today. A deal which was recently struck between a company operated by Sonu Sood and a Lucknow-based real estate company is apparently under IT’s scanner now.

Incidentally, Sonu Sood was recently appointed as the ambassador for Delhi government‘s ‘Desh Ka Mentor’ programme. Following a high-profile meeting between Sonu Sood and Delhi chief minister and AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal, the latter announced the Bollywood actor as the ambassador of the program.

Also, Sonu Sood was recently appointed as the ambassador of Punjab’s vaccination drive by the Congress government.

Sonu Sood had already made it clear that he has intention of entering politics. But his recent associations with anti-BJP governments seems to have left the saffron party hierarchy upset.

The BJP government often faces allegations of unleashing the CBI and IT departments on its political opponents. The IT raids on Sonu Sood might be one such instance.
