YSR Congress Party’s president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy maintained a close relationship with BRS chief K. Chandrashekhar Rao. When they were the Chief Ministers of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana respectively, Jagan never went against KCR.
When his sister Sharmila started YSR Telangana Party in the state, Jagan didn’t support her. Now, Sharmila’s husband, Brother Anil Kumar stated that Jagan is afraid of KCR, and thus he always maintained a cordial relationship with the latter.
Speaking in an interview, Anil Kumar said “After Jagan won the election, Prashanth Kishor has come to us insisting that we expand the party to Telangana. She (Sharmila) said that her brother would make the decision. When Prashanth Kishore asked Jagan, he declined the idea.”
“Jagan said that he does not want to enter Telangana since KCR is ruling there. Jagan said that all his assets are in Telangana and thus, he does not want to go against KCR,” he added.
Without her brother’s support, YS Sharmila started her political party in Telangana first and later she merged the party into the Congress and moved to AP.
