Jagan's Padayatra Timeline Set
Former chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has almost entirely been depending on the upcoming Padayatra for his return to power.
In the last 30 months since the formation of the NDA government, Jagan has not stepped out for a public protest even once. He is trying to pacify the YCP cadres by announcing the upcoming Pada yatra which is on the top of the priority for him.
Today Jagan has announced that his upcoming yatra would be starting in September or October next year. This is principal confirmation of the timeline that Jagan would be following.
Jagan has left a solid 18 months window between the start of his walkathon and the 2029 assembly election, which is just about efficient. But more than the timing of the Yatra, it is going to be the drama factor that will be holding key.
Before the 2019 election, Jagan had the vacuum of the division of the alliance and anti incumbency to work with. He even had the unrelenting support of Sharmila, who was campaigning for him all along.
But Jagan has none of these factors in play in 2029, as the alliance is rocksolid, and they have been working towards very friendly governance with no scope for negativity. In fact, Jagan himself has Sharmila and Vijaya Sai Reddy fighting against him.
There was the Kodi Katti sympathy factor that somehow worked in his favour before 2019. So only time will tell if there would be any such episode before 2029 election as well. So ultimately, it is going to come down to the drama as far as Jagan and his connection with the masses is concerned.
