Jagan In INDIA: Not Happening Really?

Jagan INDIA alliance political move

Andhra Pradesh politics has largely become a two-sided contest after the formation of the NDA alliance between the Telugu Desam Party, Janasena and the BJP. The only other major political force is YCP, which is currently out of power.

However, there has been a long-standing narrative that Jagan has maintained a silent understanding with the NDA. His party has often supported bills introduced by the NDA in Parliament. This has further strengthened the speculation about an understanding between the two sides.

Now, the latest developments are reportedly suggesting that Jagan is contemplating a switch to the INDIA alliance. There is also speculation that he wants to join the Congress-led bloc ahead of the 2029 elections.

However, such a move appears highly impractical at this point. Jagan has been openly critical of Rahul Gandhi and has repeatedly spoken against him whenever he gets an opportunity.

Another major factor is the ongoing ED and CBI cases against Jagan and his close associates. There is a perception that maintaining a cordial relationship with the central government could be important for him in dealing with these legal challenges.

With so many factors involved, a switch to the INDIA bloc does not appear realistic at this stage. Jagan would have to make a major political shift to move away from the ruling NDA alliance, making any immediate possibility of such a move highly unlikely.
