YCP representative Lella Appi Reddy has approached the Andhra Pradesh High Court seeking an indefinite postponement of the upcoming local body elections. The development has raised questions about the party’s readiness to face the polls.
Lella Appi Reddy reportedly cited uncertainty over the voter numbers for the upcoming local elections. He also requested the court to direct the authorities to conduct the elections only after the completion of the SIR procedure.
The move has led to speculation that the YCP leadership may not be fully prepared to take on the local body elections at this point. The court case filed by the party representative has added weight to those concerns.
Jagan has been emphasising the need for YCP to make a strong comeback through the local elections. He wants the party to contest the polls aggressively and use the results to demonstrate that YCP remains a major political force in Andhra Pradesh.
However, the latest legal move presents a different picture. While Jagan is pushing for an aggressive election strategy, the party’s approach on the ground appears more cautious. The court case has therefore become an important indication of the current situation within YCP.
