Jagan Mohan Reddy started talking about Vizag Shift once again. The Government already issued a G.O. directing the HODs to work on their offices and accommodation since the Chief Minister is going to work from Vishakapatnam very soon.
A committee has been appointed with three IAS officers to look into it.
Earlier several dates have come and gone but this time things have moved a bit.
With elections fast approaching, this is an attempt to give the impression that Jagan shifted the capital to Vizag. The fact is that there is no capital shift but Jagan is only setting up his camp office there. He wants to create an impression in the public that Vizag is the capital since the CM is working from there.
Hundreds of Crores of Public money are being spent on the shift even though Jagan has very less number of days left in this term.
In the G.O., it is mentioned that the CM will work from Vizag to oversee the development and implementation of welfare schemes for the backward Uttarandhra region.
After ignoring Uttarandhra for four and a half years, Jagan Mohan Reddy developed a love for Uttarandhra just before the elections and is moving there.
But then, this announcement seems to not excite the people of Vizag or Uttarandhra.
There is no visible excitement in the people and YSR Congress is worried that even their final plan is not working.
To try once more, a Bus Yatra is planned by the Ministers in Uttarandhra region to rake the sentiment.
Vishakapatnam is a tough nut for Jagan. Even at the heights of Jagan’s wave in 2019, TDP was able to win four out of four seats in Vishakapatnam city.
