Usually, the YCP government is unusually particular about cinema ticket pricing. Even the makers of big ticket films have to plead to the CMO even for nominal ticket price hikes. In the case of Salaar, the AP government permitted a paltry hike of Rs 40 despite the big stakes involved.
But surprisingly, the AP government has lent a bigger helping hand to Mahesh Babu’s Guntur Kaaram.
Apparently, the government is all but confirmed to permit Rs 50 ticket hike for the film. The G.O. regarding the same could be published soon. This is a surprisingly big hike, considering how unpredictable the AP government can be with these things.
Not only that, the makers of Guntur Kaaram are requesting the AP government to permit additional shows as well. More clarity on this will be out soon. But regardless of this order, the film might not have any problems with unofficial additional shows, which has become a norm these days.
Guntur Kaaram is releasing on 12th January. So with just two days to go, the G.O. on ticket hikes should be any minute now. It needs to be said that Guntur Kaaram has been luckier than many other films with regard the AP government’s method of operation.
