Jaya’s popularity to grow bigger after jail term!

The 4 year jail term and 100 crore fine is less likely to influence Jayalalithaa’s popularity according to Tamil Political analysts. Jayalalithaa who is the the only sitting Chief Minister to ever be convicted while in office is expected emerge as a bigger hero after her jail term according to them. They cite the examples of Lalu Prasad Yadav, Om Prakash Chautala who were convicted in various cases but their popularity remained untouched even after their jail terms.

Analysts say on this line, Jayalalithaa has more advantages than the others since she has earned very good name in Tamil Nadu in the last three years through various welfare schemes. Also Tamil Politics mostly revolved around DMK and AIDMK, with DMK shattered to core with leadership problems and serious corruption allegations, Jayalalithaa will not easily lose her political prominence. However it has to been seen how she manages to face the 2016 Assembly election being in jail and a weak CM in place.
