Ex minister Kakani Govardhan Reddy had sought anticipatory bail from the Supreme Court regarding the quartz mining case. But in a huge shock to him, the bail plea has been rejected.

Kakani is accused of quartz irregularities, usage of heavy explosives and atrocities. The ex minister is A1 in the case. However, he has been absconding for two months, without surrendering to the police.

In the past, Kakani had approached the High Court for bail. But it was rejected there too. The High Court refused to give anticipatory bail to Kakani. Due to this, he filed a petition for bail in the Supreme Court. The case came for hearing on Friday.

Though the lawyers on Kakani’s side, pleaded with the judge, the judge did not consider their arguments and dismissed the plea. While Kakani’s lawyers requested to withdraw the petition, the jury did not give in.

The Nellore police are on the lookout for Kakani in Hyderabad and Bengaluru at the houses and farm houses of Kakani and his relatives. Huge amounts in crores were transferred to one Supraja in the matter. When the police gave her notices, she refused to take them. They pasted the notices on the wall of her house.




Meanwhile, talk is that Kakani could be arrested any time now.
