Kavitha Gets Bail After 164 Days Of Jail

Former Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao’s daughter, MLC Kavitha finally got bail in the Delhi Liquor Scam case.

Kavitha will breathe free air after spending 164 days in jail. In this case, the Supreme Court of India granted her bail.

A bench comprising Justice BR Gavai and Justice Viswanathan took up the hearing on the bail petition filed by her. Senior advocate Mukul Rohatgi appeared on behalf of Kavitha and ASG on behalf of ED.

A two-judge bench heard arguments from both sides and granted bail to Kavitha.

“Investigation is complete and chargesheet has been filed. Custody of the appellant is not necessary. She has been behind bars for 5 months. The likelihood of trial being concluded in the near future is impossible,” the bench opined in the order.

From the last few days, there were reports that Kavitha will get bail. Accordingly, KTR and Harish Rao were in Delhi along with 20 BRS MLAs increasing the speculations of bail.

However, this bail will also mean that the political rumors around the possible merger between the BRS and the BJP will intensify in the days to come.

But then, KCR would not worry about it now.

After the back-to-back defeats in the Assembly and the Parliament elections, Kavitha’s Bail will be a huge personal relief for KCR.

This will accumulate some energy for him to fight against Congress.
