Kavitha Pressmeet, KTR Can Easily Learn!

Kalvakuntla Kavitha addressing media

Kalvakuntla Kavitha addressed the media once again today. Many expected a sharp attack on leaders within the BRS. Instead, she surprised everyone by focusing on public issues raised during her Jagruthi Janam Baata across Hyderabad.

Over the past few days, the MLC has toured several parts of Hyderabad. During the press meet, she spoke continuously for nearly 40 minutes. She highlighted local issues faced by residents in different neighbourhoods, with clear attention to ground level problems.

Kavitha spoke in detail about several Bastis in Hyderabad. She avoided areas of Western Hyderabad where wealth and government publicity are concentrated. Her focus stayed on poor and middle class families living in Bastis and dealing with daily civic issues.

She listed problems such as bad roads, poor drainage, stray dogs, housing shortages, drinking water supply, damaged schools, lack of medicines in hospitals, cleanliness concerns and pension delays. These issues often remain limited to district papers and are ignored by mainstream media and politicians.

Kavitha also mentioned the Jiaguda Goats and Sheep Mandi and a Gaushala housing around 8000 cows. She questioned why free medicines are not provided there, despite students and IAS officers visiting the facility for training purposes.

Her detailed approach stood out and reflected strong groundwork by her and her team. Few leaders have spoken at such depth about local civic problems so far. The press meet offered a sharp contrast to routine political statements.

The discussion also sparked comparisons with KTR. Observers noted that he remained focused on West Hyderabad both while in power and in opposition. Many feel he would benefit from addressing other parts of the city in the same manner.

Towards the end, Kavitha spoke about the SP Balasubrahmanyam Statue Controversy, which is likely to draw media attention. With GHMC elections approaching, her consistent focus on civic issues suggests she is positioning herself carefully.
