BRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha has once again admitted that there are differences between her and her brother BRS working president KTR but this time she hit back at those trying to sensationalise the issue. Asking the media to take it lightly she pointed out that such disagreements exist in all political parties.
Kavitha questioned why the media focuses on their differences when similar incidents happen elsewhere. She cited examples of Rajagopal Reddy criticising Revanth Reddy in Congress and Eatala warning Bandi in BJP. She said that if Revanth makes a statement Rajagopal counters him within half an hour yet the focus remains on BRS.
She stressed that people’s happiness is what matters most and that good leaders must emerge for this. This is in contrast to her earlier tone where she indirectly criticised KTR and even made remarks about ghosts surrounding KCR a veiled reference to KTR and Harish Rao.
There has been speculation that BRS chief KCR considered removing Kavitha from the party. However she appears to be softening her stance perhaps to ensure her place in BRS a party founded by her father. During her interaction she stated that she sees herself as the Chief Minister of Telangana in 15 to 20 years.
KCR has already made it clear that KTR is his political successor which may explain why Kavitha has been active in Telangana Jagruthi and has recently allied with HMS an organisation with links to Subhash Chandra Bose. Observers believe she is working to build a loyal cadre base that will back her when she eventually stakes a claim for the top post in the state.
