Harish Rao – Not A Victim But A Predator?

The discussion around who will succeed KCR has been ongoing for years. Many have wondered whether it would be KTR or Harish Rao. But over the last decade, it has been clear that KCR prefers his son, KTR, as his political heir.

Despite this, Harish Rao has always enjoyed public sympathy. As the MLA from Siddipet, he consistently wins with record majorities. Known for being accessible to party cadres and grassroots leaders, he is often described by the media as KCR’s “troubleshooter.”

In fact, during the Telangana agitation, Harish Rao played a major role in mobilising support. KCR appeared occasionally, while KTR and Kavitha joined the movement later. Many felt Harish Rao was sidelined despite his early involvement and loyalty.

However, recent developments have taken a surprising turn. Ever since Kavitha began differing with the party leadership, people assumed her tensions were mainly with KTR. But she has now redirected her criticism towards Harish Rao and Santosh Rao.

In her recent statements, Kavitha has openly called them corrupt and accused them of planning to take over the party by sidelining both KTR and even KCR himself.

She even went as far as to say that Harish Rao creates problems within the party and then positions himself as the one fixing them. Kavitha also alleged that he has secret ties with both the BJP and the Congress.

These are serious charges, and it remains to be seen whether BRS cadres will believe her. Until now, Harish Rao was seen as selfless and often a victim within the party setup. But Kavitha claims he’s not a victim, but a predator.

In an earlier press conference, Kavitha had accused Harish Rao of being involved in corruption in the Kaleshwaram Project. She suggested this was why KCR did not reappoint him as the Irrigation Minister in the second term.

Given Kavitha’s pace and determination, there is speculation that she might even submit a formal statement to the CBI against Harish Rao. The political storm surrounding her continues to intensify.
