KCR Petition in High Court Over Kaleshwaram Report

KCR files petition on Kaleshwaram report

Ex CM and BRS chief KCR has filed a petition in Telangana High Court against the Kaleshwaram commission report. On the same day, ex minister and BRS leader Harish Rao also moved a separate petition challenging the one-man PC Ghose Commission.

Both leaders alleged that the report merely echoed what the Telangana government wanted. They called it a vengeful move by the state and requested a stay on the report’s implementation until their petitions are heard in court.

Last week, KCR held discussions with KTR, Harish Rao, and other BRS leaders on the political fallout of the Kaleshwaram commission findings. The report named KCR, Harish Rao, and ex minister and BJP leader Eatala as culprits in the Kaleshwaram project scam.

The PC Ghose Commission claimed that KCR was mainly responsible for irregularities and corruption in the project. Submitted on July 31, 2025, the report has been strongly questioned by BRS, which says the accusations are fabricated and politically motivated.

If the Telangana government acts on the report, KCR and Harish Rao may face jail time. The Rs 86,788.06 crore Kaleshwaram project has been controversial, and the sinking of Medigadda barrage piers pushed the Congress government to order the one-man inquiry.
