Ahead of GHMC polls, Telangana government has allocated the major share of IAS postings to the region. So far five of the total 25 postings made were allotted to the region indicating that government is serious on puting the city’s development on fast track as the ruling party aims to capture power in the forthcoming elections.
Senior IAS officers M G Gopal (1983), Dr Shailendra Kumar Joshi, Ranjeev R Acharya (1983) were given postings in crucial departments of GHMC indicating government’s seriousness.
The ruling party of the new state already wooed two influential MLAs from TDP – Talasani Srinivas Yadav, who has been made a minister in the cabinet, and former mayor Teegala Krishna Reddy – into the party to bag the biggest corporation of the Telugu states. The party is also in talks with 25 former corporators of TDP and Congress to join ahead of the polls.
