In the wake of upcoming GHMC elections, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao arrived at a compromise with the media in the state. The government earlier planned to ban media from entering Secretariat which invoked huge uproar from media. Party leaders and cadre alarmed against this sudden development and cautioned the CM about the possibility of media going against the government in the election.
Finally, KCR arrived at a compromise and came to Press academy today to meet the journalist associations. Entire media got united and condemned government’s plan of imposing restrictions on the media. Understanding the intensity, KCR slowed down and kept the idea of media ban aside at least for now.
The Chief Minister showered sops on the media and immediately announced 10 Crore to be transferred to the Press academy for the welfare of the media personnel. He even promised to clear all the decks for implementing health cards for journalists of the state.
