KCR’s Big Promise: 53 Seats for Women

The BRS mega meeting took place at Telangana Bhavan today afternoon. From the tone of it, it looked like the BRS was preparing for the general elections that are 3 and half years away.

That apart, BRS head addressed various levels of party workers from the grassroots level to MPs. The main focus of the meeting was on the upcoming silver jubilee celebrations starting from April 27, 2025.

Harish Rao has been announced as the in-charge for the silver jubilee celebrations of the party.

KCR who came to Telangana Bhavan after 7 months came with an agenda to rejuvenate the spirit of party members.

While acknowledging that Telangana people voted for the Congress based on welfare promises, the BRS head said that Congress failed completely in the process.

But one big declaration was about women. KCR said that delimitation will increase the number of seats to 160 and BRS would give 53 seats to women. He also said new woman president will be announced soon.

KCR reaffirmed that BRS was a secular party committed to secular ideology, addressing the minorities.

KCR also announced special training classes would be held for party leaders soon and that they can expect major changes in the party in future.

He said Telangana Jagruthi will continue based on the agenda of its members.

The party also has plans of year-long intense agitation and one protest per month. Three committees will function in each district to address the issues of farmers, workers, women and students.
