KCR Contesting In Two Seats: Strategy Or Setback?

KCR-Contesting-In-Two-SeatsThe much anticipated list of BRS contestants for the coming MLA elections in Telangana is out now and there is one significant and substantial update in the same.

The official list confirms that KCR will contest from not one but two constituencies. While one is obviously Gajwel, the other is Kamareddy.

While announcing the first list of candidates much ahead of the opposition parties is a win for BRS, the fact that KCR has decided to contest in two constituencies might be a setback. It implies that KCR is not confident enough and hence the decision to contest in two constituencies. This narrative will be extensively carried by the opposition parties.

But BRS’s argument is that the party believes that Chandrashekar Rao’s shift to Kamareddy would help the party in the entire northern Telangana zone, across the erstwhile districts of Adilabad, Medak, Karimnagar and Nizamabad.

Either way, the interesting decision from KCR has already become a focal point of discussion in Telangana politics. With less than 3 months to go for the polls, BRS has made its first major move and the onus is now on opposition parties to announce their electoral plans.
