KCR Goes To People, Old Problems Continue!

KCR With Farmers

BRS Party is going through an extremely turbulent phase in Telangana. The party is yet to recover from the shock of the Assembly elections defeat and it is starting at a third position in the Parliament elections.

Its Warangal Candidate Kadiyam Kavya withdrawing and Senior leaders – KK and Kadiyam Srihari had hit the party morale very hard ahead of the elections.

At this juncture, Former Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao set out for a Bus Yatra to meet farmers facing drought.

Due to El Nino, there is a severe water shortage for crops in Telangana. In 2023, there was a shortage of rain for Telangana in the rainy season.

Also, the then KCR Government used water stored in the Srisailam and Nagarjuna Sagar Reservoirs to produce power. Due to the damage to the piers of Medigadda, Kaleshwaram became useless.

Even though these are factors not under the control of Revanth Reddy who is not even six months in power, KCR and BRS are desperate to use the situation to their benefit and corner the Congress government.

They want to give the impression to the voters that there were no water problems in their ten years of rule and that the Congress Government brought all sorts of problems to the farmers. They are hoping that this will better the fortunes of BRS in the Parliament elections.

But then, the Bus Yatra of KCR is riddled with many visible problems.

KCR is doing the Yatra is a customized Bus with all sorts of facilities like AC, Fridge, Comfortable Beds, and Sofas.

One may doubt if that is not the case with all the big politicians. Yes, it is true but there is a problem with KCR.

BRS’s defeat in the Assembly elections is mainly because of KCR’s arrogance and lack of proper accessibility to the people.

KCR’s Bus is being followed by a convoy of 100 cars. There are 100s of BRS local leaders and supporters all around KCR. When the former Chief Minister goes to a field and interacts with the farmers, there is no sense of apathy.

It is more like a display of strength than anything else. BRS Social Media is showing the videos of the long convoys as if some heroic achievement.

A leader should be accessible and approachable. Only then, the farmers/poor will connect with him and open up about their problems.

In the current form, it appears as though KCR is a monarch invading some kingdom with all his men and machinery.

KCR should bring some human touch to his farmers’ outreach programs. Only then, there will be a connection between him and the poor or the farmers.

Also, BRS should remember that every government will have a certain period of honeymoon and should not rush to milk political advantage. Anti-incumbency is a natural organic process. It will not happen in one night just because BRS is in a crisis.

It is also important to give it some time. Or else, KCR will look too desperate and that will backfire.
