The Intensive Household Survey of Telangana even though had its share of controversies is doing good for the state. Up on the intense scrutiny it is found that at least 10% of the total 24 Lakhs houses built between 2004-2014 in the weaker sections housing scheme. It is said that YSR government had sanctioned 14 Lakh houses between 2007 and 2009 in a bid to make a comeback to power in the subsequent elections. It is said that majority of these houses are built for bogus beneficiaries.
KCR led Telangana Government had already initiated a CID probe in to these irregularities and is looking to pin down all the the beneficiaries, revenue staff, sarpanches, housing board officials for each fake house. The government is also keen to book the then ministers, MLAs and public representatives those who actually recommended houses to bogus beneficiaries.However it is said that there are some TRS leaders and MLAs and MPs of then were involved in this scam as well and it has to be seen how government deals with them.
