BRS chief KCR has left a lasting imprint on Telangana’s political history. As the first Chief Minister of the state, he led for two consecutive terms and aimed for a third, but the 2023 election results changed the course of his political journey.
Following his defeat, KCR has largely stayed away from public life, spending most of his time at his Erravelli farmhouse. On Tuesday, he made a rare public appearance in Kokapet to pay his respects to Tanneru Satyanarayana Rao, the late father of Harish Rao and KCR’s brother-in-law.
Usually seen clean-shaven, KCR appeared with a small beard and looked visibly frail. His recent appearance has sparked discussions across social media and within BRS party circles about his health and well-being.
The former Chief Minister had earlier injured his hip after slipping in his bathroom, which forced him into a period of rest at Erravelli. In July this year, he was admitted to Yashoda Hospital for a routine check-up after his blood sugar levels rose and sodium levels dropped. He was later discharged in stable condition and returned home.
While KCR is said to be recovering, his visibly weaker appearance has worried BRS cadres and triggered speculation in political circles about his current health status.
