Just like how Chandrababu Naidu fought BJP and the entire Central Government machinery before 2019 elections, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is facing the same scenario.
The other day, KCR went to Bihar and met Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Speaking to media at the Pressmeet, KCR said the Central Government is using CBI and ED against Political opponents to harass them.
KCR called for all the Chief Ministers across country to revoke General Consent which will allow CBI to automatically register cases in a state. If the consent is revoked, CBI has to seek consent of the state government every time it needs to register a case in the state.
Chandrababu Naidu revoked the consent before the elections but YSR Congress used it to corner him. Most likely KCR will also do it and it has to be seen how the Opposition will use it.
Currently, nine states like West Bengal, Meghalaya, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan and others have revoked the consent.
