Telangana Chief Minister K Chandra Sekhar Rao had reiterated that he will be the modern Robin hood for the upliftment of the poor in the new state. Speaking at an event in Hyderabad, KCR stated that Lakhs of acres Land is encroached in Hyderabad and his government will recover it from them and will redistribute it to poor. He announced that his government targets to build houses for poor in the recovered land with 20000 Crore rupees in its tenure.
“Our government will not send bulldozers to bring down colonies like previous governments. We will construct pucca houses for poor in their colonies itself. In the next 5 years, I promise to make Hyderabad a city devoid of slums”, KCR announced amid loud cheer. The Telangana Chief Minister also announced the intensive household survey unearthed several irregularities and the government will very soon undertake intensive land survey which will surface encroachments.
