One of the biggest parties in Telangana, BRS, is in a severe crisis right now, after losing the assembly and parliament elections.

Many of its leaders started jumping either to the ruling Congress party or the Bharatiya Janata Party. As of now, BRS has only 32 MLAs under its hood while Congress has 71. Six MLAs from BRS switched to Congress in the last six months.

Recently, former speaker and Banswada MLA, Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, and Jagityal MLA Sanjay Kumar jumped to Congress, worrying the pink cadre.

Amidst this jumping trend, BRS supremo K. Chandrashekar Rao held an emergency meeting with his MLAs at his farmhouse in Erravalli.

He opined that the party wouldn’t suffer any loss if a few leaders like Pocharam left. He noted that similar defections occurred during YS Rajasekhara Reddy’s regime and they didn’t affect BRS at all.

He expressed confidence that his party would withstand this trend even now and conveyed optimism that good days are ahead for BRS.

Various MLAs like Harish Rao, Vemula Prashanth Reddy, Muta Gopal, KP Vivekananda, Maganti Gopinath, Arikepudi Gandhi, Madhavaram Krishnarao, and Prashanth Goud participated in this meeting along with a few MLCs and senior leaders.




Surprisingly, KCR’s son and BRS working president, KT Rama Rao, skipped this meeting. The reason for his absence is yet to be known.
