KCR’s FAST brings dire situation to colleges!

Telangana government’s newly planned fees reimbursement scheme is bringing the question of existence to the engineering colleges in the state. It is known that KCR is planning FAST – Financial Assistance to Students of Telangana which only pay the fees of those students whose families are staying in Telangana prior to 1956, the United State came to existence. It is said that 35% of the management seats in Telangana state are currently not taken due to the strict rules of this scheme.

Telangana Engineering Colleges have about 40,000 management seats of which only about 25,000 seats are filled and more than 12000 seats are vacant. CM has formulated this scheme to prevent Andhra students or the Engineering Colleges management getting benefited from the scheme and officials say the Chief Minister’s purpose have been served. However many Engineering Colleges complain that they can not continue for long in this dire situation where they can not even pay salaries to their staff.
