The BRS party has been facing significant challenges since its defeat in last year’s assembly elections. As of now, many BRS leaders, MLAs, and sitting MPs have jumped to the Congress.
Today, the Congress leaders managed to catch a big fish. Rahul Rao, BRS youth leader and brother-in-law of KT Rama Rao, joined the Congress party earlier today.
Rahul Rao joined Congress in the presence of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and other prominent leaders of the party. Former MLA Mynampally Hanumantha Rao reportedly played a pivotal role in facilitating Rahul’s transition to Congress.
This is a big blow to KCR and KTR because one of their family members turned his back on them and joined the rival party. It has to be seen how KTR responds to Rahul’s shift.
On the other side, Rajendra Nagar BRS MLA Prakash Gound met Revanth earlier today. He will be joining Congress very soon.
On the whole, the ongoing trend of leaders shifting to Congress is causing concern among BRS party members and leaders ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
