KTR’s Master Plan Got Foiled

Telangana IT Minister K Taraka Ramarao’s Master Plan to execute Water Grid and Fibre Grid project gone haywire due to the lack of coordination between the IT and Rural Water Supply departments. KCR proposed to lay the cable for Fibre Grid Project along with Water Grid pipeline to save double work.

But water Grid pipeline to an extent of 3500 km was laid without laying the fibre grid cable. IT department is struggling to lay the cable for this 3500 Kilometers stretch. The goof up came to light when KTR reviewed the progress of the Fibre Grid project with RWS department officials for taking up the laying of Water Grid pipeline works.

The Fiber Grid Project is aimed at giving affordable internet to every household to the state. The Fibre Grid project and the Water Grid projects done together will reduce the project cost by 80 percent as there would be no need for the IT department to dig trenches again to lay Fibre Grid cables.
