BRS working president KTR responded to a netizen by saying that if he had voted for the Congress, he should question the Congress about his complaint. The comment comes after the Congress government hiked RTC bus fares in October, leading to continued protests from citizens in Telangana and Hyderabad.
A netizen wrote to KTR asking him to raise the issue in the Assembly. He pointed out that the Metro Express bus ticket between Patancheru and DLF increased from Rs 30 to Rs 45. He said the Rs 15 hike was a financial burden for commuters and requested KTR to take up the matter.
The same netizen added that he had voted for the Congress hoping for development. He said the fare hike was troubling and tagged KTR in his post.
KTR replied that if the person had truly voted for the Congress, he should question the Congress first. However, he also said that the issue would certainly be taken up.
The exchange drew attention from several netizens. Some argued that the fare hike was unfair, while others questioned how someone who voted for the Congress could expect BRS to answer for it.
